General information only

The content of this site is patient education. It describes why the two sides can differ, how the causes are told apart, and what treatment costs in recovery and risk. It is not a diagnosis, it is not a treatment recommendation for any individual, and it does not create a doctor-patient relationship.

No substitute for examination

Which of the four causes is present in your own case depends on findings that can only be established by examining you: the volume and base of each breast, the position of each fold, the chest wall underneath and the quality of the skin. Reading this site cannot substitute for that, and a plan made from a website alone is a plan made without information.

Results vary and are not guaranteed

Individual results differ, healing takes months, and no surgeon and no website can guarantee an outcome. Any statement that appears to promise one should be treated with suspicion wherever you encounter it. The tissues continue to age after any operation, and further surgery may be needed later.

If something is wrong after surgery

If you have had breast surgery and develop rapidly increasing swelling, a tense painful area, spreading redness or fever, bleeding that does not stop, a wound that opens, or a new lump, contact the treating team or seek urgent care immediately rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
